How's my myth?

THE CATERPILLAR AND THE BUTTERFLY

There was once a kingdom on the other side of the world. This kingdom, Thror, was overseen by a mighty ruler, the god of nature, Lef. Here, Lef created many plants and animals so the human beings living there wouldn’t be bored. Their most hated type of creature was called the smaug which meant great worms. The smaugs were very ugly and the humans loathed them when they crawled up the tall trees of Mirkwood, the kingdom’s biggest forest.

One day hawks that came from the other end of the world flew along the Running River. They then attacked the humans by biting and pecking on them. Soon the humans were scared and they jumped into their boats and paddled away. Luckily, Lef stayed and all the animals at this kingdom fought the hawks. It was the smaugs that found the hawks’ weak spot and defeated them. Now, a couple of hundreds of miles east, the humans were starving and began to see mirages. Because of this, they thought that they were near an island and decided to let the ocean currents do their job and push them towards it. Unfortunately, this island was a mirage. After becoming more tired, they started forgetting things and they didn’t know where they were. Eventually, they stumbled upon a gigantic island where they were fed and taken care of by Erisichthon, the goddess of food. Lef soon heard about where the humans were and along with all the other animals, they sailed off to this foreign kingdom. Along their trip, they got lost and a boat with animals flipped and its inhabitants drowned. That boat contained what we now call them as extinct animals. So Lef and the remainder of his troop trudged on and finally landed on the island where the humans were. There, the animals and Lef were also taken care of and got better quickly.

Now Lef, after he got better, looked for the humans and found them but they had forgotten everything. Lef ran back to the animals and looked for the smaugs. He did this because he thought seeing the animals might jog their memory. But to his surprise, the smaugs were now cuddly flying things. Lef thought that because they killed the evil hawks, they were given the gift of beauty. He also saw that all the other animals changed, too, because they had helped fight the invaders. So now there was no chance of getting back the human’s memory, but at least everyone got a fresh start. (Lef didn’t actually like the sloppy humans on his kingdom.) To begin with, Lef thought, all the creatures should have new names. The smaugs were renamed caterpillars and the new flying things were now called butterflies. So now until the end of time, the caterpillars would begin their life as worms but change into vibrant butterflies.
