I received a Christamas gift from someone by post. It was supposed to be a bonsai tree. Frankly its a joke, looks like someone planted a twig in a plant-pot. Do I humour them and tell them its great, or tell the truth and say its crap?
Do I tell someone it looks like a twig?
smoke it
Reply:Tell the truth
Reply:Maybe bonzai trees look like that when their starting to grow. Or, this person probably just snapped all its branches off so that he/she could mail it without it getting further damages. Give this person a little more credit for their effort. Give the tree a chance to grow and you%26#039;ll see it%26#039;s a good gift after all.
Reply:Tell them it%26#039;s wonderful and ask their advice on caring for it
Reply:first throw away your own mirrors
Reply:I would find out if they saw the %26quot;tree%26quot; before it was sent or if they purchased it online and never saw the actual product. If they never saw it, I would let them know. If they saw it, then humor them.
Reply:It kinda depends.
I think that I would first do a little research on bonsai trees and see if you tree looks like what a baby bonsai is supposed to look like. Or maybe what a dead one looks like...
Or you could give it a very slight tug, and see if the %26#039;twig%26#039; slides right out. If there%26#039;s roots, then it%26#039;s really a tree. No roots? Really a twig.
Was it delivered straight from a company? If so, then I would research the company. It could be a dumb gag gift, or it could be that the company screwed it up.
If that%26#039;s the case, then I would let your friend (relative, whatever) know that while you really appreciate the gift, and think that a bonsai would be cool, the company messed it up, and it arrived in a bad condition. And then immediately you and your friend should demand a free replacement.
If the friend packaged and mailed it themselves, then perhaps it died in-transit. If that%26#039;s the case, I would tell them it was really neat, and just leave it at that. If it%26#039;s a person who will be arrivign at your home and will ask where it%26#039;s at, you might need to purchase one yourself in the future, to save their feelings.
Reply:sorry you did not like my %26#039;twig%26#039; just give it some LA beer and fertilize it with some fresh weasel poo and let me know what happens in a couple weeks. Ba humbug anyway:)
Reply:dont be mean. appreciate the fact that they even %26quot;gave a damn%26quot; to get you anything because a lot of people are losing christmas spirit. maybe it%26#039;ll grow eventually? thank them
Reply:Say thank you, put it in a window, and water it once a week. The bonsai may have been dormant when shipped. If it doesn%26#039;t perk up, consider it a %26quot;Charlie Brown%26quot; Christmas tree.
Reply:Well,,,this is a difficult situtaion..i would just say its lovely..you dont want to loose the person as a friend :)
Reply:Humour them. People get so upset when their gifts turn out to be awful.
Reply:Say the truth in a simple way. Just say yeah it looks like crap if it does, or say %26quot;what is this?%26quot;....yeah tell the truth.
Reply:humor them
Reply:Depends who it is.
Reply:Just reciprocate by sending a tangerine, along with the line %26quot;You%26#039;d never believe my tree bore fruit%26quot;
Reply:Tell them you will wait and see what develops since its shape seems a bit unusual for a bonsai tree. They should know that it arrived in an unacceptable condition. Perhaps you can blame it on the postal handlers. Don%26#039;t gush over it or you%26#039;ll get more next year. Remember, they were thinking with good intentions.
Reply:Maybe you should just complain to the company that it was sent from.
Reply:I would tell them. Hopefully, they delivered it through a florist, a store, or other garden shop and can get a replacement or refund. I had a plant delivered to my boss for his Birthday and it came looking like a weed! I called and quickly received a very nice replacement!
Reply:They probably meant to send you a twig to see your reaction.
Tell them it%26#039;s rubbish !
Reply:you should decorate it like a christmas tree and show them
