The meaning of Christmas?

I have family who didn%26#039;t want to go the root of Santa with thier kids, but still didn%26#039;t want them to miss out on the whole tree and lights thing. So this is how they explained Chirstmas to thier kids: Besides it being the birthday of Chirst (our Lord and Saviour), we get a tree, wreaths and other holiday plants because he was born in a manger so we bring nature into our homes, we decorate our homes and trees with lights because of the light from the star that led the wise to Jesus. And we give gifts because of the gifts the wise men gave. I know it%26#039;s not true and so do the kids by now, but I thought it was a cute intrepretation of a religious hoilday that has become so commericalized.

The meaning of Christmas?
I married in to a family that doesn%26#039;t do Santa, but still does decorating and celebrations for Christmas.

In my humble opinion, the reason of Christmas is the birth of Jesus, regardless of when in the year scientists/philosophers/etc say he was born. Does it REALLY matter is sheep don%26#039;t graze in the winter months, so obviously that isn%26#039;t when Christmas was? Does it REALLY matter that it took the Wisemen three years or so to find the stable? No. Of course not. The reason for Christmas is to glorify and remember the greatest Gift that was ever given. Jesus is the REASON we all have the opportunity for forgiveness, unconditional love and everlasting life. I think that%26#039;s a good enough reason to decorate a tree, put up some lights and exchange presents. We%26#039;re excited and happy that we are able to go to Heaven, if we choose to believe. Let%26#039;s celebrate!!
Reply:Christmas is NOT the birth time of Jesus, nor of Christ.

Christmas is NOT the nicest time of the year, but worst.

It%26#039;s NOT three magi, but 3 gifts from many Babylon Jews.

Wise men did NOT visit a babe, in a manger, at Bethlehem.

Shepherds do NOT abide flocks in field at night at Xmas.

Xmas Tree is NOT Godly, but vain (Babylon) custom (Jer 10).

The King of the Jews (Law) is NOT The King of Kings.
Reply:It is true, and I think it%26#039;s a great way to celebrate Christmas.
Reply:presents. lol not rly. I think its about spending time with ur family and celebrating jesus%26#039; birthday
Reply:it%26#039;s been commericalized...
Reply:It is all business friend, religion is just an excuse for these rich bas****s!!! look at halloween, easter, thanksgiving and all those other holidays. These companies make billions of $$$$$ when they do this.
