Last year my son was gifted a baby spruce tree on the day of his birth, now that spruce is dying.
I don%26#039;t know what to do.
It%26#039;s in a large pot with enough room for it%26#039;s roots and it gets plenty of water. (I even talk to it, it%26#039;s name Bob). I gave it plant food but nothing seems to be helping.
It%26#039;s dry and turning brown.
I%26#039;m very sad, please help me with my baby%26#039;s tree...: (
My tree is dying, Please help?
Dig a hole in the ground the same depth as the pot. Carefully remove the tree from the pot and loosen up the roots.. Plant it in the ground where it belongs.
Reply:hi there. The tree at this stage (brown and dry ) sounds like it will not come back. It is to far gone now.
Spruce trees do not survive well in pots for a long period of time.
Reply:Yep. it%26#039;s a gonna. Better luck with your son.
Reply:Transplant it outside, at least for the summer, in a sunny spot
Reply:Keep watering it and keep it in the sun .
Reply:ur probably over feeding it! stop feeding it and give it a good dose of %26quot;plain%26quot; water for the next few waterings to %26quot;leach%26quot; out all the salts from the plant food! oh and u should have it outside! don%26#039;t let it sit in water either! if the soil that it%26#039;s in stays wet for more then two days u need to change the soil to something that drains well! it could be %26quot;drowning!%26quot;
Reply:it may need to be in the ground. call the local nusery or tree foundation and ask, they will be glad to help
Reply:Its A Spruce Tree!!! It belongs in the ground. Plant it and throw some earthworms around it.
Reply:This was happening to someones tree when I was Visiting my Spiritual master in Oahu. I over heard my teachers close assistant tell a lady what to do about the tree. He said take a broom and dip it in the ocean (no ocean then salt water) and flip the water all around the branches of the tree. She asked why? and he said Oh you are a westerner and atheistic so you may not believe. But she insisted and so he told her that the tree has a ghost. The salt water sprinkled around the leaves of the tree gets rid of it. Maybe you can google up SALT and GHOSTS.
I know this is a weird suggestion, but you never know! If you talk to %26quot;Bob%26quot;, you may also be open minded to this suggestion!
