No offence intended.....?

no offence intended i would like to share my view with others and have a christian response with evidence :

Was jesus a miracle performer or just a magician from that period of history?

without quoting from the bible is there any evidence to suggest that a mortal man (cause he died) could cause miracles or did he have %26#039;plants%26#039; in the crowd to pretend to see and walk etc?

has there been anyone more recently who posses gifts like this?

No offence intended.....?
Your very close or possibly already there.

Many studies of indigenous cultures show what early man could have been like.

Shamanism, shapeshifting and spirituality have many overlapping concepts between cultures all over the world. Why would things be different in arabia?
Reply:I think that David Copper field could have ruled the whole freakin%26#039; planet back then.

Heck, just give me a cigarette lighter, a chicken foot and a couple of asprin and I could be a messiah in those backward times.
Reply:oh he had plants.. but they were the kind you smoked. That make people wacky and think miracles happened.
Reply:He was, and is very real;;; these were Not tricks, HE GAVE ME part of his self, part of his HOLY SPIRIT, and that is very real, he made me a decent human being,, where I wasn%26#039;t before, he is very real, it was not a trick. HE made me hole ,where I wasn%26#039;t before. MY SAVIOR IS VERY REAL, and you better believe it. I hope and pray he will forgive all this hate people STILL have for him,and us.
Reply:I am an Occultist, seeing we all enjoying sharing our views here may I share mine?

Miracles are something that do not require the talent of God to conduct. I am sure that there exists people who with no magickal talent perform miracles on a daily basis. I believe that everyone is capable of miracles. Magicians perform miracles as well. They can make people see an impossible act all the meanwhile knowing it was not amazing. I believe the reason we do not see the miracle powers of Jesus in this day is becuase we are capable of handling most of it ourselves.

The word miracle is facinating to me. It means an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment. By this definition all magicians are miracle workers. I think being able to take a liver from a dead man and give it to a living man in order to save the living mans life is a very unusual event and accomplishment. I believe teaching 45 students how to read at the same time is an unusual event and accomplishment. I believe caring for hundreds of peoples minor illnesses on a daily basis is a miracle. I believe that miracles are the most ignored accurance in all accurances. I believe the human race has written off the word miracle becuase they forgot what it means.

God is not a miracle worker. There is nothing unusual about him healing several people. It is not an accomplishment to heal these people through divine means for a God. In all honesty there is nothing miraculous about any of the acts of God. Being omnipotent he is not held to the same definition of miracle as we are. As a person I would much rather look to the miracles of man, then to look to the miracles of God.

Do not get me wrong, I believe in God wholeheartedly. I believe that he is the divine force behind all things. I however believe, in his infinite wisdom that he would not create us for the soul purpose of needing him. He created us to be self sufficient. To be capable of healing others. To learn and be curious about all things. I think God wants someone to learn the truth. To know the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. I believe it is the prophecy of the human race to find this ultimate truth.

Hails to the truth,

Silence
Reply:Those filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus said these things I do, you will do greater works.

I have witnessed miracles first hand in the name of Jesus.

Love in Jesus%26#039; name
Reply:Jesus performed miracles. A magician creates an illusion and decieves your mind to make you believe you actually say what wasnt really there.

Jesus did raise Lazereth from the dead. Lazereth had been dead for 3 days before Jesus came to His tomb and brought him back to life. That was a miracle and not an illusion. Jesus raising himself from the dead after 3 days in the tomb was His greatest miracle. It is up to you if you wish to see these miracles with your two eyes in your head, or use faith and see them with the eyes of your heart.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Reply:yes there are a few people own have the gift of healing, but no one person has been given all the gifts.we%26#039;re taught that Jesus died for our sins
Reply:It cracks me up when people ask bibical questions and don%26#039;t want to hear what the bible says! Why ask Why?
Reply:Yes that%26#039;s right and in 2000 yrs from today we%26#039;ll all be worshiping David Copperfield.

People like you just make me sick ,grow up.
Reply:The bible was written about 70 years after Jesus died in a culture we barely can understand from today. It is wrong to read his miracles too literaly.

%26gt; Who is to say what walking on water is? Walking suspended by a magic force 1 inch above the surface rather than say water skiing, or walking down a pier.

%26gt; Who is to say raising someone from the dead is mysteriously putting life back into someone, rather than helping the, return from a coma, performing CPR, or a code term for withdrawing an ex-communication decree?

For a rational explanation of all these supposed miracles read %26quot;Jesus the Man%26quot; by Barbara Thiering.
Reply:Good question! I%26#039;m going to ATTEMPT to answer it, but i%26#039;m definately not the authority on this. I believe that yes, Jesus was a miracle performer, I believe this because I also believe he was a part of the trinity and God incarnate. I believe he was able to do these miracles because of this. There is plenty evidence for many aspects of the bible, including that Jesus was who he said he was. I would really encourage you to pick up a book by lee strobel called %26quot;The case for faith%26quot; and another one by him called %26quot;the case for christ%26quot;. They would answer a LOT of your questions. Lee strobel was a reporter who set out to disprove Christianity and he interviewed all these people and did all these researches and through doing so came to the conclusion that Jesus was the messiah and he then became Christian. Pretty much the same thing happened with C.s. lewis and some other famous athiests. I commend you for asking this question openly and honestly rather than trying to be smart and sarcastic.

As for recent people, no. Jesus gave his disciples the power to heal, but to my knowledge, God has not given these gifts to anyone in our time period. i believe that God used his miracles to show people who He was. I don%26#039;t believe anyone besides God (and Jesus who is God incarnate) can perform miracles. Anything else seemingly miraculous from any man i believe would be from satan (including all things magic)

Hope that helps!
Reply:Jesus was the son of God yes he died bur 3 days later he rose from the dead. He was not a magician he is and was the Son of God which is why he could peform the miracle%26#039;s he did .there were no %26quot;plants%26#039; in the crowd.

Ther is no one else who can do this that i have ever heard of.
Reply:He still heals today.
Reply:Christian miracles still happen today... I personally suffered from great pain in my left leg for almost 20 years then one day during a bible study the person leading it said that the Holy Spirit had told them to wash our fee as an example of servant-hood just like Jesus did in the bible story and that someone there would be healed of a long time problem He did not share the healing part with us just the washing.. as the warm water ran over my left foot it felt like my toes had been plugged into an electric outlet...

The pain was gone and has never returned... Several years later Holy Spirit told me to place my hand on the hand of a friend%26#039;s who had broken it in a bicycle wreck and it was all twisted up as I began to pray our hands became very hot and then his hand began to snap and pop over 15 people in the room heard it and saw it reshape back into a normal state.... It was not me but I know it was GOD... that happened about 15 years ago and his hand gives him no trouble today or any day since then..
Reply:Christian response WITH evidence? Isn%26#039;t that an oxymoron? I mean isn%26#039;t Christianity built on FAITH? not facts?
Reply:He%26#039;s the Son of God. Hence, the miracles.
Reply:Yes, I have proof everyday I live. Jesus performs miracles in the lives of my family and people I know all the time. That%26#039;s my proof. And yes there are people who have gifts, God gave us gifts. There are many, healers, teachers, pastors, etc. These are gifts!
