Does chicken bones and fireplace ash look like cremated cat?

My girlfriend's cat died while she was on vacation. I was talking care of it and lost the cat's medication. I told her it died of old age. I called and she said it wrecked her trip. I promised to cremate it but the vet wants over $100.00 bucks to burn the rat. I planted it near the garage. I have to fill a container that looks like remains, I was going to give it in a vase as a sentimental gift. I don't know what these things look like.

Wow, that is definately a sucky thing to happen. A true story, about my friend who lived with my friends and I, but went to college for a year {and left most of his stuff at the house}. My boyfriend accidentally knocked over his grandmother's ashes. So, we all are filling it up with cigarette ash {all of us are pretty much chain smokers}. It might smell like cigarettes, but you can also add a little kitty litter to get rid of the smell.
