What to get my brother-in-law a MASTER GARDENER for his birthday?

He has been a Master Gardener almost 20 years. He has every garden book ever written and every garden tool ever made. The gift must be related to gardening because anything else won't be noticed. I live with him %26amp; my sister (also a Master Gardener) and I owe them both a lot. It needs to be special, personal %26amp; garden related. Oh ya, no plants. Big rule around here, no incoming foliage of any kind. He hasn't the time to care for what he has now. A real jungle around here. A trip to a fancy garden in Pango Pango is out as my budget just maxed out at $200.00. No books, no tools, no plants. Oy? What to get the man who has everything, garden related, $200.00 budget. HELP!

What to get my brother-in-law a MASTER GARDENER for his birthday?
Find a garden showplace within driving distance that is featuring their garden in bloom.Take them both. When you call about the place fot time, etc. Ask if you can bring a nice food basket, cardtable, cloth, wine, etc. Have a nice time walking around and then eating while viewing the beautiful flowers. Ask if there will be someone there who will answer questions or give tours. Your expenses will be gas, fee or donation into the garden, a nice basket lunch-not sandwiches and maybe you can find a special bulb or tool there, that you bro-in-law seems interested in that you can buy.You will be sharing his passion of gardening and giving him a great gift. It is nice to see that someone cares and respects his family! Have fun!
Reply:Felco pruners or clippers - they're the best and he probably could always use another pair.
Reply:A forrester's axe, machete, and some agent orange perhaps... Sounds to me like the gardener motiff has gone far enough.

Or maybe some nice ceramic pots...
Reply:give him a gift basket full of things for the gardener as opposed to the garden... ex. Burt's bees hand salve, and relaxing bath salts. some great gardening gloves, sunscreen, a new sun hat, a cool water bottle, a pack of some nice seeds, some tasty snacks for while he is working.

I love to give nice baskets as gifts, it allows you to get many things for any subject, and keeps the budget in check. a nice gift basket looks beautiful as well.

my husband has all things golf, so for our anniversary I gave him... some nice balls, a set of tees, some sunscreen a new glove and things of that nature.

good luck on the gift.
Reply:Tickets to your local botanical gardens.

Take pictures of some of his prized plants and have them framed along with his MG certificate.

Video(s) of his favorite gardening show.

Some beautiful vases or urns to put his plants in.

A gardening work bench.

A pretty bench to put in his garden to sit on.

A statue to go in his garden.

A hammock for the garden.
Reply:fertilizing dirt, or whatever they call it. MiracleGro. potting mixture, pots, a better lawn mower, weed killer, or give him $100 to buy whatever. better yet, get a gift card to some gardening shop
Reply:why dont u give him something unrelated to gardening.

im sure he's seen it all since he's been doing it for 20 years.

maybe massages at the local physical therapy spa.

to help relax him after working.
Reply:Have a shirt made stating he is a master gardener, make it personalized. (make sure its green)
